Femmoto 2008

This is my 4th year at Femmoto. I had a wonderful time I was able to ride like I wanted to this time. I signed up for Fridays open track day where my friend Darrick Lucchesi let me ride his Supermotos and 125. I loved it.
Saturday I was able to take out a hand full of bikes, and everyone I enjoyed riding. The best part was the rule change this year. I could now pass on the outside in a turn. That makes for a much better day. I was not held up all day. Mom and Dad made the trip out with Miles and I. It’s always fun to spend time with them. We went out to dinners and had breakfast with them. They spent half a day at the track with us. They even toughed it out through the banquet that was outside in the wind. Thank you to Darrick for giving me a wonderful opportunity with riding. Thank you to my parents for their support. Thank you to my loving husband who is always there by my side as I go off on my crazy adventures.

Indy MotoGP

This year was the first year that the MotoGP has come to Indy. We made the trip out to enjoy this event. I had a wonderful time and the racing was really good. Hurricane Ike thought it would head right for us. We had rain and 30-60MPH winds. I can’t believe that the riders could ride in that kind of weather. Amazing.

LA Fair Fun

I thought I would take a chance and enter bread into the LA county fair. After a bunch of practice loafs I thought I was ready. Miles and I headed to the fair with my nice fresh hot loaf of bread. I was the first one to check in. We waited a while for the judging. I did not win anything this year, but had a lot of complements. They judge said it needed more salt. Ummm ok. I guess so. Everything else was praised. I guess I will get them next time!

2 Years Together

Our second anniversary spent in northern California.

Miles and I went up north to a small beach town called Cayucos. I had never heard of it. We had a nice hotel room that over looked to one street town and the beach. The weather was perfect and the weekend was great. We walked around the town, shopped at antique stores, went to Hearst Castle, and enjoyed nice restaurants. It was a much needed weekend of "us time" and relaxation. We even stopped on the way home in Solvang for some sweets. Yummy!

Fireworks and Family

It was the week of the 4th of July. Ken, Rita, Miles, and I headed to Bass Lake. It was the first time that Miles’ parents have been to the lake and to my parents cabin. We did a whirlwind tour of the area. It was fun and over too fast. Miles went home with his parents and I stayed and waited for my parents to come up the next day. I was able to stay with them for about a week and then headed home. The weather was perfect when Miles, Ken and Rita where there, but really heated up all that next week. 105 degrees. Thank goodness for the lake. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Welcome to the lake!

An afternoon trip to Yosemite.

A trip into Yosemite to see the giant sequoia trees.
Miles looks stumped. hehehehehe
Tree Huggers.
Miles and his mom and dad, Ken and Rita.
The Grizzly Giant, an amazingly large tree. The picture does not do it justice. It was simply breath taking.

Awwww, nothing better than cooling off in the lake. Looks like Rita is relaxing and having fun. The Sugar Pine Railroad.
Taking a trip on the train.
All Aboard!

Time to get to work. It's BBQ building time.
Too hot to keep working. Time to hit the lake and relax on the dock.

Dad on the Waverunner with me. Our yearly trip around the lake. Mom also takes a turn each year, but we missed getting a picture this time.

Sonoma went floating for the first time.

Ready for the drive home. Sonoma was my co-pilot.
Once I got home I got a call from mom and dad. Seems their water heater broke and was flooding the garage. Back on the road and to their house I went. Here is my hand work to get the water out of the garage.
