2 Years Together

Our second anniversary spent in northern California.

Miles and I went up north to a small beach town called Cayucos. I had never heard of it. We had a nice hotel room that over looked to one street town and the beach. The weather was perfect and the weekend was great. We walked around the town, shopped at antique stores, went to Hearst Castle, and enjoyed nice restaurants. It was a much needed weekend of "us time" and relaxation. We even stopped on the way home in Solvang for some sweets. Yummy!

Fireworks and Family

It was the week of the 4th of July. Ken, Rita, Miles, and I headed to Bass Lake. It was the first time that Miles’ parents have been to the lake and to my parents cabin. We did a whirlwind tour of the area. It was fun and over too fast. Miles went home with his parents and I stayed and waited for my parents to come up the next day. I was able to stay with them for about a week and then headed home. The weather was perfect when Miles, Ken and Rita where there, but really heated up all that next week. 105 degrees. Thank goodness for the lake. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Welcome to the lake!

An afternoon trip to Yosemite.

A trip into Yosemite to see the giant sequoia trees.
Miles looks stumped. hehehehehe
Tree Huggers.
Miles and his mom and dad, Ken and Rita.
The Grizzly Giant, an amazingly large tree. The picture does not do it justice. It was simply breath taking.

Awwww, nothing better than cooling off in the lake. Looks like Rita is relaxing and having fun. The Sugar Pine Railroad.
Taking a trip on the train.
All Aboard!

Time to get to work. It's BBQ building time.
Too hot to keep working. Time to hit the lake and relax on the dock.

Dad on the Waverunner with me. Our yearly trip around the lake. Mom also takes a turn each year, but we missed getting a picture this time.

Sonoma went floating for the first time.

Ready for the drive home. Sonoma was my co-pilot.
Once I got home I got a call from mom and dad. Seems their water heater broke and was flooding the garage. Back on the road and to their house I went. Here is my hand work to get the water out of the garage.
